Rochford Scouts - November 2018 (2)

(Remembrance Day Service)    

4th Rochford Scout Group attend Remembrance Day Service.

Sunday 11th November 2018

There was a great gathering of about 75 people at St. Andrew’s Church in Rochford, of Leaders, Beavers, Cubs & Scouts, along with their families for the Remembrance Day Service. After the heavy rain showers had cleared, it was a pleasant sunny morning, for a lovely service, conducted by trainee Lay Preacher, Sue Mills. All the children were very respectful at the Service and especially during the 2 minute silence. They laid a wreath at the Church to remember all those that lost their lives.

Afterwards, the entire Group and their families marched to the War Memorial in Weir Pond Road, Rochford, where they joined other members of the Public & Fire Service for another short Service by Sue Mills and to observe a further 2 minute silence, starting with "The Last Post" and finishing with "Reveille" One of the Cubs laid another wreath at the foot of the Memorial.
