Rochford’s Architectural Heritage - Welcome

The Purpose of these Pages

Welcome to our pages giving a quick overview of the Architectural Heritage of Rochford. These pages are for visitors or even those who, from a distance might wish to catch something of the historical feeling of Rochford. They may even help those of us who live locally not take for granted that which we pass by so often.

We emphasise that these pages simply seek to convey a little of what is here in the town.  They can probably be read in five minutes (10 at the outside).  For those who wish to go in depth into what is here now, may we recommend each of the following documents produced by the Rochford District Council (which are not always easy to find online):

Rochford Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan - May 2007

Rochford Town Centre Area Action Plan - Adopted 21 April 2015

The Heritage Guide (wider area but includes Rochford)
